Jefferson County Historical Association featured speaker: Bill Finch

October 10, 2019 @ 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm

The Jefferson County Historical Association (JCHA) is pleased to announce that

Bill Finch, an award-winning writer, botanist, natural historian and specialist in landscape interpretation

and restoration, will be the featured speaker at its quarterly meeting on Thursday, October 10th. Held

at the Emmet O’Neal Library, a reception will begin at 6:30pm with the lecture at 7pm.

Finch will be speaking on the importance of preserving Alabama’s entire rich cultural and historical

legacy alongside its rich biodiversity. Alabama’s distinctive cultures have always grown out of her

extraordinary landscape and its biodiversity. And Alabama’s cultural future and likely much of Eastern

North America depends on redeveloping an awareness of our biological riches.
