It’s a Soul Thing-Taylor Hicks in Concert

Alabama Game Changers and the Samford University Wright Center present “American Idol” season 5 winner Taylor Hicks in concert. Hailed as “part Stax, part Motown and part honky-tonk” by The New York Times, Hicks’ intoxicating blend of soul, blues, country, and rock ‘n’ roll quickly rendered him a household name as he progressed to the show’s record-breaking finale in 2006, a historic television event which drew an audience of more than 200 million viewers. Proceeds from this concert event will benefit children of adoption and foster care with learning disabilities in need of intervention at Alabama Game Changers. Alabama Game Changers is a medical- literacy clinic located in Hoover Alabama. The center provides remediation of learning deficits in addition to building self-esteem, executive function skills and self-worth to all who enter the doors.
