This year there are more than 180 countries that have events planned for Jazz Day. UNESCO officially designated this day to highlights the jazz genre and its diplomatic role, uniting people all over the world, raising awareness about the need for “intercultural dialogue and mutual understanding,” and honoring the genre’s history of expression and strives for equality.
