Helena Christmas Parade-50 Years of Christmas Joy

December 4, 2021 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Helena Christmas Parade theme is, 50 Years of Christmas Joy
12/4/21 @ 1:00 pm (but be prepared to roll as early @ 12:30 pm, if all judging is completed & all participants are ready).

The route will be the same, from the intersection of Highway 17 and County Road 52
traveling down Helena Road and stops before the train tracks. Please have your children pack a bag to get the candy which will be thrown!

The history of this Helena Christmas Parade came when Helena Methodist Minister, Reverend Fred Holmes began it at night and Mullins General Store gave away free turkeys.

Later on, Joy Childers, Theresa Moore, Michelle Hamm & Sherill Vansant further organized the Helena Christmas Parade and cooked hot dogs for kids & participants in the park. Plus with the kids riding bicycles and being driven in decorated station wagons, the parade ran twice!! “Truly the Helena Christmas Parade was rocking even back then, stated Joy Childers, Helena Christmas Parade Chairwoman. This Parade continues to grow each year and it wouldn’t be the success it is, without the volunteers and Helena Police & Fire Department,  plus other County Agencies who assist us each year in keeping this parade safe. Plus our Mayor, City Council and City Workers who contribute too‼️“

If you have any further questions about the parade, you can contact (205) 663-2161 , kym@cityofhelena,org. The forms for the announcer sheet, lineup, participant letter and parade rules are on the city website page, cityofhelena.org
