Butterflies of Alabama: Glimpses into Their Lives

March 14, 2019 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Paulette Haywood Ogard, butterfly expert, will present the program at the monthly meeting of the Cahaba Sierra Group. You do not need to be a member to attend.

Join us as we take a peek into the everyday lives of Alabama’s butterflies.

It’s springtime in Alabama, and the state is full of butterflies! More than 150 species have been documented within its borders. We will begin by looking at basic butterfly biology and end with glances at a few of Alabama’s most common as well as one of its rarest species. We will also take a quick online tour of the Alabama Butterfly Atlas, an informational website that brings all these things together.

The meeting place will be: 2219 Avanti Lane, near Shades Crest and Farley in Bluff Park.
