Brenda’s Brown Bosom Buddies to host annual Pink Hat/Tie Luncheon

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Brenda’s Brown Bosom Buddies will host its 13^th annual Pink Hat/Tie Luncheon on Saturday, June 10, at the Harbert Center in downtown Birmingham.

Members of the media are invited to cover the event, which lasts from noon until 2:30 p.m.

“This is a fun-filled afternoon with great people showing off a bit of Southern charm, having a good time and supporting a truly important cause,” said Brenda Phillips-Hong, a breast cancer survivor who founded Brenda’s Brown Bosom Buddies. “The proceeds of this luncheon will help us provide free mammograms for uninsured individuals and to support those undergoing treatment for breast cancer.”

Among other things, Brenda’s Brown Bosom Buddies provides assistance with transportation and light housekeeping needs for people being treated for breast cancer.

Brenda’s Brown Bosom Buddies is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to supporting people with breast cancer, as well as providing education and promoting early detection of breast cancer in minority, low-income and underserved communities. The organization works with local healthcare providers to cover mammogram costs for women and men.
