Audubon at Home: Cranes

September 21, 2021 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Free

Read Time 1 Minutes

Pre-registration is required by 12 p.m. CDT Monday, September 20th, and space is limited. Visit https://alaudubon.org/event/2021-09-21/ for more information and to register.

Do you give a WHOOP? Educators from the International Crane Foundation will teach you the basics about whooping cranes and sandhill cranes. These incredible bird species find a winter home in northern Alabama in and around Wheeler National Wildlife Refuge. Learn about the unique conservation history of these species, how to tell them apart from similar species, and what you can do to help cranes feel at home in Alabama.

Where and when do we meet? This online course meets on Tuesday, September 21st, from 6–7 p.m. CDT. It will be an hour-long online course with time at the end for questions.

Registration: To register, visit https://alaudubon.org/event/2021-09-21/.

The International Crane Foundation works worldwide to conserve cranes and the ecosystems, watersheds, and flyways on which they depend by providing knowledge, leadership, and inspiration to engage people in resolving threats to cranes and their diverse landscapes. From their nearly 300-acre headquarters in Baraboo, Wisconsin, their reach extends across the globe—maintaining a regional base in China and sharing program offices with partner organizations in Cambodia, India, South Africa, Texas, Vietnam, and Zambia. Find out more by visiting their website (and attending this class, of course!).
