SENSORY INCLUSIVE BOO AT THE ZOO is a special event created through the Birmingham Zoo’s partnership with KultureCity, as part of our Sensory Inclusive Zoo Initiative. Your Zoo is committed to improving our capacity to serve our visitors with sensory processing needs through guest experience and inclusiveness. Spooktacular: Sensory Inclusive Boo At The Zoo is the perfect event for children, adolescents, and adults with cognitive or physical disabilities whose opportunities for engagement in community programs might otherwise be limited. The goal of the event each year, is to create an inclusive space for guests with sensory sensitivities to enjoy a night of Halloween themed fun and activities without large crowds, loud noises and busy lights. Using a variety of elements such as: non-flashing lights, low-level music and sounds around the zoo and on the train, quiet zones, fidget toys and allergy free candy trick-or-treating, we hope each guest will have a unique experience designed just for them!
