Trattoria Zaza makes fun dishes with a blended menu of Italian and Southern fare. They are a hot brunch spot on the weekends, but they offer a great selection for dinner too. The Rougaroux serves Cajun classics in an at-home-feel restaurant. You can enjoy classic New Orleans dishes amidst the Saints fanfare decorating their walls. brick & tin is a favorite spot for fresh food, pastries and drinks. They serve classy dishes with local and sustainable ingredients. Their two soups are mushroom and butternut squash. brick & tin delivers in a select area or you can get it delivered through Grubhub.

East 59 is a cute café with vintage vibes. You may remember them from East Lake, but they are now operating at the Lee Branch shopping center in Hoover. Urban Cookhouse got its start in Homewood and grew into the chain they are today. They offer farm fresh food with speedy service. Urban Cookhouse serves sandwiches, wraps, salads and soups. Greenhouse offers a fresh selection of sandwiches, salads (including build your own) and soups. According to their menu, Bray Britton, an owner and cook of Greenhouse, can’t make a bad soup. The Garage is a bar and restaurant set up inside an architectural salvage shop courtyard. They serve customizable sandwiches and one of their own creations called The Fritz—a monster of a sandwich with everything on it. Gordo’s is my favorite spot for tacos. On the weekends, they serve a selection of traditional Mexican soups. They serve menudo (a beef stew), caldo de res (a beef soup) and pozole (a hominy stew). Get Gordo’s delivered through Doordash.
