BhamStrong, Birmingham’s resiliency movement, just launched a new program that not only means employment for Birmingham residents, but also provides much-needed services in the wake of COVID-19. Apply Now.

Birmingham Service Corps

In a nutshell, the Birmingham Service Corps pays volunteers to work on projects solving emergent and growing needs in our community as they relate to the COVID-19 crisis.

What does that mean?

The program has already successfully employed nearly 100 unemployed workers after testing pilot projects over the last two weeks. A great part of the program is that these projects truly meet community needs.

The projects included (but are not limited to):

  • A call center that proactively engaged with Birmingham public housing communities to screen residents over the phone for COVID-19 symptoms
  • A meal preparation and delivery project to provide Birmingham City School students with free lunches.

How to Apply

If you’re looking for paid hourly work or just want to help out our community, you can apply for membership to the Birmingham Service Corps. As Service Corps projects become available, BhamStrong will contact those who have applied for membership.
