The Pizitz and Alabama Multicultural Organization (AMOR) are hosting Alabama Multicultural Street Fair in Birmingham on Sunday, September 29 from 12-5 p.m. For one day only, local artists, vendors, musicians and cultural dancers will come together and celebrate Alabama’s cultural diversity. Did we mention that this is a FREE event?

Thanks to The Pizitz and fellow sponsor Harvest Market, all you have to do is show up and get ready to party! But don’t forget your manners: Remember to RSVP to this family-friendly event.

Here’s the 4-1-1…

For the first time ever, The Pizitz and AMOR are literally shutting down the street on 19 Street N, directly in front of The Pizitz. More than 30 vendors will convene in the heart of downtown for the Alabama Multicultural Street Fair.

In perfect Birmingham fashion, you can expect plenty of tasty fare. So first, venture inside The Pizitz Food Hall and visit your favorite food stall for delicious food and drinks. Try tasting different cultural flavors, from Nepalese food with Mo:Mo to Indian fare at Silver Kati. 😋

Then, get ready to boogie, because what’s a party without a little music and dancing? Inside, local music group Jason Grubbs Trio will be inside serving up sounds.  Meanwhile, The Wild and Aviie will keep the vibe going outside on 19 Street N.

I don’t know about you, but I’m a big fan of dancing in the street. And during the street fair, people will be shaking a leg, belly dancing and more. I’m especially looking forward to a performance from Alabama Dance Nation and a street side-style salsa class with Forma Arts + Wellness. 💃

PSA: Christmas will be here before you know it, and it’s never too early to start shopping

That said, the Alabama Multicultural Street Fair is the perfect opportunity to shop from local vendors. In fact, you’ll catch me sippin’ tea from Piper & Leaf while strolling through the market in search of handcrafted goods from local makers.

Some amazing local vendors such as Bonnybee Designs, Cityfolk Creative, ecam and co, Jessica Cohen and Lily+Oaks Collective will also be at the street fair. Oh, and you better believe I’ll be getting henna from Blue Lotus Mehndi

Trust me, you don’t want to miss this. RSVP today, and invite your friends!

A Celebration for a Cause

Personally, I love to party with a purpose, and The Alabama Multicultural Street Fair is one such occasion. The entire afternoon will highlight Birmingham’s cultural diversity and raising awareness for Alabama Multicultural Organization (AMOR).

AMOR is a statewide non-profit committed to the promotion of Alabama’s cultural diversity and multicultural history. Throughout the year, the organization hosts events that celebrates these things through arts, music, sports, dance, film, theater and incredible food. And that, my friends, is a beautiful thing.

In addition to the street fair, AMOR spends every second Friday of the month at The Pizitz. So, in case you can’t make it on Sunday, AMOR Night Out at The Pizitz Food Hall is on Friday, October 11, from 5-11 p.m.
