The winners of Comparably’s annual Best Company Culture list for 2018 have been announced. Say congratulations to No. 14 on the list—Birmingham-based company Shipt.

A Recap on Shipt

Just to refresh your memory, Shipt is a membership-based online grocery marketplace that delivers fresh foods and household essentials through a community of shoppers and a super convenient app.

After being bought by Target for over $550 million this past summer, the service not only brought tons of new jobs to Birmingham (881,000), but its services were expanded nationwide.

But there’s more to this successful Birmingham-based company. As it turns out, it is also a pretty great company to work for. Who says? Their employees.

Comparably’s Annual List

If you haven’t heard of Comparably, it is a workplace culture and comprehension monitoring site whose mission is to make workplaces transparent and rewarding for both employees and employers.

On the site, employees can access salary data and rate their company, its CEOs and their overall work experience. The website looks at specific demographics such as:

Ethnicity
Age
Tenure
Industry
Location
Education

For their annual Best Company Culture list for 2018, comparably.com compiled data from nearly 10 million employee ratings in 50,000 U.S. companies. Employees were asked over 50 structured questions and comprehensive workplace questions in core culture qualities, such as:

Compensation
Leadership
Professional Development
Work-life Balance
Perks and Benefits

Questions were structured in Yes/No, True/False, 1-10 scale and multiple choice formats.

Those companies who made the list received the highest ratings by employees. As No. 14 on the list, this definitely means an A+ in worker happiness for Shipt employees!
