Third Friday in Forest Park is next Friday, November 16th

November is zooming by us, which means that Third Friday is soon to be upon us! On the Third Friday of every month, the small businesses of Forest Park come together to celebrate each other and the community.

The shops open their doors and invite people in for local craft beer, sangria, wine and lemon bars. Restaurants in the area often have drink or dinner specials, and you can usually find a small outfit playing live music on the corner by Zoe’s. Neighborhood folks are out and about, bustling around and checking out the shops, and it’s a great night in Forest Park. Find out more about the shops below!

Naked Art Gallery

Naked Art Gallery is a true Birmingham original. For approximately 20 years, the gallery has been home to over 70 artists’ work. Owner Vero Vonblaere is active in the Birmingham creative scene, and even had a film at Sidewalk Film Fest this year! 

Each Third Friday, Naked Art Gallery lets a non-profit set up to serve drinks (usually delicious sangria!) and share about their cause. Patrons are welcome to donate. 

The gallery doesn’t just feature paintings. Many different mediums are showcased here! With everything from jewelry and notecards to woodworking and graphic design to ceramics and mixed media, there is something for everyone. The ceramic pieces in the photo below are made by talented local artist Terri Dann Osborne. Check out those funky handles! 

Shoppe Birmingham

Shoppe is one of Birmingham’s most unique stores. At first glance, it looks like the coolest plant store you’ve ever seen (it kinda is). But it’s much more than that. Shoppe sells a selection of beautiful books, spices, botanical perfumes and colognes and handmade stationery. 

They also have an greenhouse outside as well as a selection of trees for your home. They support many local makers by selling their candles, cards, books and more throughout the store.
