Welcome to the Bham Now Nature Roundup for the week of October 6.

This month, there are two great opportunities to learn about the world around us.

On October 18th at the Cahaba Brewery, the Bham Now BOLD Series will be hosting UAB professor and National Geographic explorer Sarah Parcak. Winner of the TED Prize, proceeds from the event will benefit Parcak’s GlobalXplorer initiative. Tickets are limited and they are going fast. Added bonus, for the price of the $20 ticket you not only get to see Parcak, you get a beer from Cahaba Brewing Company and tacos from Taco Mama. Register today.

Also on tap for October, the Alabama Rivers Alliance and Alabama Environmental Council are once again holding the Wild and Scenic Film Festival. Spend Sunday, October 21, binge watching the finest conservation films of 2018.
