Taque (pronounced taw-cue) is combining two of everyone’s favorite comfort foods.

Barbecue? Check.

Tacos? Check.

What else could you need? We certainly can’t think of anything.

Chef Jones Is Going For It

Chef Jerome Jones must’ve felt the same way when he decided to open up Taque, a barbecue and taco fusion restaurant that will be located in the REVeal Kitchen at The Pizitz Food Hall and will open in the first week of September.

The current tenant of the REVeal Kitchen is Chef Andrea Foster’s restaurant, The Preservery. Chef Jones actually worked alongside Chef Foster at The Preservery, and credits the entrepreneurial and creative spirit of the restaurant with helping him go after his dreams.

Chef Foster will be moving from the REVeal Kitchen into her very own brick-and-mortar location soon, but The Preservery will be open until August 31.

What’s On The Menu?

So, what exactly is on the menu at Taque? In addition to tacos, Taque will offer burritos, salads, rice bowls, “sammiches,” nachos, and loaded baked potatoes. Proteins choices range from chicken, beef and pork to fish and tofu, so there will be an option for everyone.

We Checked It Out For You

We were lucky enough to experience Chef Jones’ delicious dishes earlier this week, and we’ve gotta say — this place is going to be popular. The smoky favors of the barbecue seem to lend themselves to the spicy taco flavors in a way that makes us wonder why we hadn’t thought of this before. Luckily, Chef Jones has done all the thinking for all of us. Head over to his stall at The Pizitz starting the first week of September and experience the flavor fusion for yourself.

Stay up to date with Taque on Facebook and Instagram.
