We can call Secret Stages many things, but we certainly can’t call it your average music festival.

Music Under The Radar

What’s the coolest aspect of Secret Stages? It has one of your new favorite bands on the roster. The self-proclaimed “music discovery festival” prides itself on booking artists and bands on the brink of being the next big thing.

You’re truly not there to hear the current trendiest band on the radio. That’s not what this fest is about.

Who, When, Where

The venues changed  from last year, but Avondale is the perfect place for a music festival. Here are the details:

• Secret Stages will take place this weekend, August 3-4, 2018
• The fresh and up-and-coming acts perform on 5 stages at 3 different venues: Avondale Brewing Company, Saturn, and 41st Street Pub & Aircraft Sales.
• Here’s the schedule. You can listen to each performer/band if you click on their name.

The acts are from all over, and there are lots of locals on the list, as well. With more than 60 brand new bands, bringing brand new sounds to a brand new area, this is a music connoisseur’s paradise.

Before They Were Big

Secret Stages introduced the world to bands like St. Paul and the Broken Bones, Dawes, Hiss Golden Messenger, Shovels and Rope and many, many more.

Festival Tickets

Tickets are on sale now, and ticket prices are sold in tiers.  Buy your tickets here. Listed below are the different tickets and their amenities.

• $30 Day Pass: Day Pass holders will have access to all  venues on a single day of the festival.
• $50 Weekend Pass: Weekend Pass holders will have access to all venues on both days of the festival.
• $100 VIP Pass: VIP Pass holders will have access to all Secret Stages venues and events plus the VIP Lounge. There you will have complimentary beer, spirits, and catering, as well as DJ sets throughout both evenings.

I don’t know about y’all, but  I think this is one super-cool Birmingham tradition that way more people need to know about. Secret Stages could propel Birmingham into a new direction—a place with a musically diverse culture that rivals Nashville and Atlanta. I can’t wait to see how this festival grows.
