Renee Louallen has worked with La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries for more than 14 years. According to Louallen, there are four reasons why this is the perfect time of the year to purchase that recliner, sofa or indoor furnishing.

“It is one of the best times of the year to buy furniture. People wait all year for it. Even in March, we get the question; “When is the Memorial Day sale?”

“Folks know that Memorial Day is a big day. They just get excited about it. We have great deals going on.”

It is the end of Spring and beginning of Summer

“We have new fabrics and furniture in the store,” said Louallen. “ The weather is warming up. People are ready for a change.”

With school out, you have time to involve everyone

School in Alabama ends a few days before Memorial Day this year. It is the first time in months you can bring along the kids and family to check out all the selections. Nothing beats sitting and propping up your feet in the recliner before you make a decision to purchase it.

People tend to move after school in May. They want to get “settled” before the new school year

The moving company, Estes Sure Move states that the best time to move starts in May. Most families want to get settled in at their home before school begins in the Fall.

It is common sense, according to Louallen. “When you buy a new home, what do you want – new furniture.”

Spring cleaning helps make decision on furniture

We’ve all done it. Spent a spring day cleaning out the house. It forces you to take a long look at your furnishings. Coincide your evaluation with a Memorial Day Sale – then it all makes sense.

Memorial Day is a special and solemn day for all Americans. La-Z-Boy and Renee Louallen recognize the importance of the day to our nation.

“My uncle was in the military,” added Louallen.

“Memorial Day was alway the time our family would get together and listen to his wartime stories that he had, remembering the people that have died serving our country. My uncle would tell the stories as if it were yesterday. Remembering the soldiers that were with him, side by side,” concluded Louallen.

In that spirit, through the La-Z-Boy Memorial Day Sale, let us welcome everyone to a grand American tradition of renewal – the beginning of summer, the end of school, an opportunity for a new home and time to remember loved ones that gave so much to our country.
