We love to see local companies giving back to the community. Good ol’ Uptick Marketing has a pretty stellar reputation in that department-this is their third year giving away a $35,000 marketing makeover to deserving nonprofits in Birmingham.

Called the Magic City Marketing Makeover, the competition awards winners with a whole bunch of important but expensive marketing glam for free.  Think social media content, blog posts, an SEO audit, a website refresh and more.

See the full makeover details here.

This year they’ve expanded their competition by increasing the categories for applicants-now a winner will be chosen from the General nonprofit and Christian nonprofit categories.

Best. Application. Ever.

Step 1: Apply here by April 30th. Awesome video submissions recommended.

Step 2: Uptick picks 15 finalists and announces them on May 15th.

Step 3: Get your mom’s cousin’s best friend’s Aunt twice removed and everyone in between to vote for you between May 18th and May 25th.

Step 4: Win all the website and branding glory for your mighty nonprofit on May 31st. Huzzah.

If you’re a 501(c)(3) in Jefferson, St. Clair, Shelby, or Blount Counties then what do you have to lose? This contest is a great opportunity for you to boost your brand and inspire more people to join your cause which means more donations and good things for Birmingham.

Check out last year’s winners: UnlessU, a ministry serving adults with developmental disabilities, and Firehouse Ministries, a men’s homeless shelter downtown.

We think the Magic City Marketing Makeover is a great and creative way to give back to Birmingham.  Good luck to everyone who applies!
