Forget basketball, the most important “bracket” you can fill out today is Garden and Gun Magazine’s Southern Craft Brewery Bracket. And the big matchup today? Birmingham’s own Good People Brewing vs. Southern Prohibition Brewing out of Hattiesburg, Mississppi.
Garden and Gun has assembled thirty-two of the South’s best small breweries into a March Madness-style bracket competition. They are asking beer lovers to vote for the sixteen first-round matchups until 11:59 p.m. EDT Sunday, March 18.
The winners will advance to the second round, which starts on Monday, March 19th. You can vote once every six hours and they encourage you to use #southernbeerbracket on social media to let everyone know how you voted.
Birmingham’s representative in this bracket challenge is our beloved Good People Brewing. As of Sunday morning on March 18th they are in a tight neck in neck game with the gang from Mississippi (only a 2% difference).
Help send Good People Brewing through to the Sweet 16.
Here is a feature Bham Now story we published about Good People and their renown coffee oatmeal stout.
Let’s push Good People through Birmingham!!!
And in the spirit of local craft brewers supporting each other, while you are at it, vote for Gadsden’s Back Forty too!
