After best season in program history, UAB Blazer Football announces 2018 schedule

The UAB Blazer Football program had their their best season in program history in 2017. UAB finished the regular season with an overall record of 8-4 and a mark of 6-2 in C-USA.
UAB had record home-game attendance, the best in the conference, and Blazer coach Bill Clark was chosen as Conference USA Coach of the year. CBS Sports named Clark the National Coach of the Year. After a smoking-hot season, the Blazers are looking ahead to the new 2018 schedule just released.

Redemption?
After last season’s loss to the University of Florida, UAB will get another shot at a powerhouse SEC team in 2018. They have added Texas A&M and Tulane as out-of-conference opponents.
The team kicks off the year with three home games in September. Beginning with the season opener, Sept. 1 against Savannah State. Next, they will travel to Coastal Carolina and then return home to face a former C-USA conference member Tulane On Sept. 15.
With the team’s BYE week coming after Tulane, the Blazer’s will look ahead to Charlotte on Sept. 29, followed by tough back-to-back road games against Louisiana Tech on Oct. 6 and Rice on Oct. 13.
After the Rice game, UAB will be take a breath…or a heavy sigh. They can look forward to the last half of the season with three of the next four games at home.
Beginning with 2017 season’s West Division Champion North Texas on Oct. 20, then over to El Paso to take on UTEP, and then jump right back to Legion Field to host UTSA on November 3 and Southern Miss on Nov. 10.
The Blazers will end their season by traveling to Kyle Field to try to upset one of the SEC’s strongest teams, Texas A&M with their new coach Jimbo Fisher previously coach of Florida State.
