Who’s coming to town? December 12-December 18

bully Who's coming to town? December 12-December 18

Ready for the election to be over? Celebrate the conclusion of this long senate race with a week filled with live music in the Magic City.

Tuesday: Bully with smut and Snacks. Bully is loud, angst-filled rock and roll based in Nashville, Tennesse. The group met when singer Alicia Bognanno moved from Minnesota to pursue a degree in audio engineering from Middle Tennessee State University. A Steve Albini protege, she engineered the band’s second record, Losing, which is out on SubPop and has also been distributed by Columbia. It’s one of the hottest records of the year–included in a pile of year-end best-of lists popping up across music publications now. See why when they roll through Birmingham

Friday: Patterson Hood with Lilly Hiatt. The most interesting thing happening here is how great this double bill is; do no miss Hiatt’s set as the opener. The second most interesting thing happening here is that Hood will surely have opinions about this week’s election results and this will be your first chance to hear them in his home state of Alabama.
