Big week of music in the Magic City, with two sold out Iron City shows: Kane Brown is presented by 102.5 The Bull on Sunday evening and Chevelle with 10 Years and AEges is Monday evening, but you’re going to need to look to a secondary market if you want to get in to either of them.

Thursday: Chad Fisher Swing Band [pictured above]. Birmingham’s hardest working brass musician and St. Paul & the Broken Bones trombonist Chad Fisher will present his swing band for a unique performance.

Thursday: The Weeks with Locust Fork. Sam Williams has deep roots in Birmingham, though he has spent most of his adult life in Mississippi. When he returns home, it’s a treat to see his dad’s band, Locust Fork, reunite to open for the boys. The Weeks are warming up for two nights of recording their first live record after the start of the new year; good chance they pull out some surprises.

Friday: Club Duquette One Year Anniversary Party. Stop by Club Duquette as Duquette Johnston celebrates the one year anniversary of his Woodlawn supply shop. Cathead Vodka will have drinks, Levi’s will have giveaways, Byron Sonnier will showcase his art and music will be performed by Birmingham’s own Lady Legs and Love Moor.

Saturday: A New Found Glory with The Ataris. Early ’00s pop-punk rock comes to Avondale on Saturday evening. A New Found Glory found success with hits like “Hit or Miss” and “My Friends Over You,” while The Ataris are best known for their pop-punk cover of Don Henley’s “Boys of Summer.” This show is selling fast.

Saturday: The Local Art, Music and Brews Show. Red Hills Brewing in Homewood welcomes The Murder of Jane Crow, The Steel City Jug Slammers and Bradley Bell for an evening of music, while local artists will offer gift ideas ahead of the holiday season.

Sunday: Midnight Matinee with Bright Knives and Run for the Gates. Bright Knives is one of Birmingham’s brightest new bands, a sort of supergroup of Birmingham’s rock scene over the past 10 years. They’ve not played a lot of live shows yet, and this will be a fantastic opportunity to see them early.

Tuesday: Kamasi Washington with Moonchild. Shows like this one skip Birmingham. It’s a treat that Washington has finally made his way to the Magic City; make sure he knows that he’s welcome back anytime.
