Birmingham foodies and food truck enthusiasts now have dreamy options when it comes to street food. The new Dreamland BBQ inspired international food truck menu served from the Dreamland Dreamtruck was a hit with over 100 people who got to sample the menu last night at the Homewood Community Center.

Friends and family of Dreamland BBQ came out to support the Dreamtruck’s launch. Food bloggers and even our own Bham Now founder Cindy Martin were on hand to sample the dreamy menu.

“When we talked about the food truck menu, we wanted to offer something new to the community, not the extension of the traditional Dreamland BBQ brand, said Chef Angela Schmidt, creator of the new Dream Truck menu.

Why an International Fare?

CEO and President of Dreamland BBQ, Betsy McAtee explained to us that a trip to Mexico with some of the members of the Birmingham Chapter of Les Dames d”Escoffier (a women’s culinary group) helped inspire her to change Dreamland’s food truck menu.

“That trip, was a trip of a lifetime and it gave me the opportunity to experience the food, the spices and beverages of Mexico, and I wanted to give the people in Birmingham the opportunity to experience those same culinary delights.” McAtee added.
