In case you don’t have any plans for your Saturday morning, here’s one. Get your East weekend started with a friendly 5K run through Oak Mountain State Park. If you’re worried that you might not be ready for an entire 5K run, walking is accepted too. This is an event for the whole family.

The Hometown Hero Superhero 5K is a race to raise scholarships for the children of local police officers. After the 5K Race, there will be an Easter egg drop! How fun does that sound? The kids get to scramble around looking for eggs to fill their baskets.

Also, look out for a bounce house, face painting, dunking booth, and much more for the family! This event is sure to bring cheer as they raise money for a greater cause.
