Major Funding for this Local Startup allows for Major Expansion
Funding for Birmingham based University Fancards LLC is the second wave of successful fundraising since its beginning.
By providing collegiate licensed gift cards and re-loadable prepaid cards, the funding will allow the company to expand into more markets.
According to the BBJ, Gregory Boggs (Founder and CMO) started the company in 2015 with kick-starter funding of about $1 million.
This next round of funding, of $1.64 million, was timed perfectly as the company is bringing out many more university-branded cards this past week.

- Tennessee
- Texas
- West Virginia
By the end of 2017, the company expects to reach more than 20 universities and be available in 25,000 retailers.

- Tennessee Vols – Dollar General, Daily’s Convenience Store, & Weigel’s
The funding will also allow FanCards to add around 10 employees by the end of the month!
