The McWane Science Center is hosting Spring Fever March 1 through April 15. Symptoms include science, wonder and fun!
During Spring Fever guests can enjoy special deals and awesome educational programming. On Mondays, “McWane Mondays,” enjoy $10 combo tickets. Also look out for special discount days and free prizes that will be announced on social media.
March 26-31 is Brain Awareness Week. It’s a worldwide celebration of the brain that brings together scientists, families, schools, and communities. UAB’s staff and graduate students will be there to assist you with a chance to dissect a sheep brain or cow eyeball and complete interactive activities that describe how the senses work.
Also during the week, March 27-31, there will be special themes for McWane’s public programming in the Adventure Halls such as McWane Speedway, Tech Lab, Create and Construct, Welcome to the Jungle, and Lost in Space.
There’s also a traveling exhibit named “Going Places” on the third floor. Going Places is an interactive science exhibition that explores the technology humans have developed for travel. If it’s been in your wildest dreams to pilot an airship, ride on a hovercraft, or control traffic in a city, here’s your break.
Not only are there exhibits, but you can also catch the two newest IMAX movies, Dream Big and Extreme Weather in the John W. Woods IMAX® Dome Theater.
View their website to see more dates and times for the educational programs.
