Within the next week, one major development will be serving Birminghamian’s with its unique food stalls, and another will be serving its “delicatessen’s”, originally from Homewood.
Both are quite near each other and anticipating its openings inside our booming foodie culture; The Pizitz and O’Carr’s.

News on its grand opening will be coming out this week.
The O’Carr’s, yes the owners of O’Carr’s, shocker there, are venturing downtown to set up shop in the thriving area of North Side.
Located on 214 18th St. North, right down the way of the Theater district, the famous Birmingham deli may be coming into a new type of scene, but the model is staying the same.

- Hours – 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
One of the new things the O’Carr’s want to implement into this new location is opening up once a week around dinner time!
- Menu – Soups, Salads, and Sandwiches
My favorite part about this story, of the O’Carr’s finally coming downtown, is how they will be living right above the restaurant.
Being a mixed-use development, the building allows the couple to not only live and work all in one area, but also lease out the other 2 lofts on the second floor.
Confidence in Birmingham’s ability to produce new businesses, and constantly be transforming into a foodie paradise, continues to grow.
Personally, I can’t wait to see what is next!
