Teams Selected for the 2017 Alabama Launchpad Startup Competition

The Economic Development Partnership of Alabama (EDPA) holds an annual competition to provide the top three winners with funding for their startup.

Now, 9 more startups, one of which is based in Birmingham, will be competing in the 2017 round.

Teams:

Tuscaloosa based – a waste bio-based glycerin that replaces expensive petroleum products.

Mobile based – a monthly subscription service to premium cigars.

Mobile Based – making the clinical experience for nursing school less cumbersome for instructors and students.

Huntsville based – an end-to-end genomic medicine enablement solution.

Selma based – your favorite southern style cookies baked with real ingredients.

  • Honey Do

Seale based – a peer-to-peer app for projects.

  • Innovation Plasma Technologies

Auburn based –  technology-enabled baby products that eliminate plastic off-gassing.

Tuscaloosa based – monopoly beating sunglasses and eyeglasses made in Alabama.

  • Wyndy

Birmingham based – Among many app based companies, Wyndy makes it easier on our everyday college student and the parents who needs assistance in babysitting.


First Round:

The first round of competition is meant to thin the pot of startups to compete in the finale – looking to split a share of $250,000.
