Samford University – Est. 1841 – celebrates its 175th birthday as 2016 comes to a close.

This milestone is dedicated to its many years of excellence and achievement within its 10 schools.

Timeline:

• Est. 1841 – Marion, Alabama – Named Howard College

•  1887 – Relocated to East Lake

• 1957 – Relocated to Lakeshore (HWY 149)

• 2016 – A total of 10 Schools – 5,471 total Students – 87th oldest institution of higher learning in the U.S. – President Andrew Westmoreland
