Nature Roundup December 16th edition – brought to you by JSU Little River Canyon Center

Audubon in Birmingham Alabama

Looking for a break during the holidays? Drop by and see  the 2016 Audubon Traveling Photography  exhibit that is on display at the Birmingham Audubon Society’s office until December 22nd.

“Must read” from this week’s compilation of stories – our favorite:  “Gifts with nature in mind, gifts that give back.”  Bham Now found 28 local nature/conservation organizations that are selling special gifts over the holidays.

We are also very proud of Fred Hunter’s Absolutely Alabama story on my childhood family friend Steve Trash (I know his childhood last name too – but I promise to keep it secret).  A remarkable magician, entertainer and passionate environmentalist Steve Trash is truly an Alabama original.

Finally, one last item on this week’s calendar – the  Alabama Coastal Foundation’s Connect to Your Coast event on December 21st at Avondale Brewery.  Join Birmingham native and Executive Director of the Alabama Coastal Foundation Mark Berte and his staff on Wednesday night to learn about the progress his group is making protecting Alabama’s precious coastal region.

Now, this week – December 10-December 16
