Nature Roundup December 9th edition – brought to you by JSU Little River Canyon Center

If we had to pick the “feel good” story of the week, it has got to be OHenry’s Coffees installation of a solar energy system at their roasting facility.

We truly love the idea of “solar powered” coffee in the morning.

Our favorite upcoming events?  Up at Little River Canyon Center – take the family for some real life “star-gazing” with a NASA scientist/educator. Or  for something a little bit silly and fun with the kids try the Fresh Air Family Wacky Tacky Christmas this coming week.  And don’t forget to mark your calendars for the Alabama Coastal Foundation’s Connect to Your Coast event at Avondale Brewery on December 21st.

Stories scheduled for next week on Bham Now?  Lookout for a guide to  local”Nature-based” Christmas gifts.  We are also working on a story about water efficiency to address the still on-going (but better this week!) drought.

Now, this week – December 2-December 9
