Mobile, AL welcomes new Stephen King movie production

Attention Stephen King fans, Mobile, AL is hosting your favorite author’s new film production. Gerald’s Game, a 1992 novel, will be shot almost entirely in Mobile. Filming will last through November, plenty of time for you to try to make a trip to visit the set.

The plot is based on a couple visiting their summer home for a weekend getaway of romanticism and some adult games, only to end up in a dire situation. With Mobile being a popular vacation spot this might be why the production staff was inspired for their film. Or maybe Mobile gave off the perfect spooky vibe?

Some famous names you might recognize that will be starring in this film are Kate Siegal and Henry Thomas.

This film is 20 years in the making for director and lifelong fan, Mike Flanagan, who says this film is one of the reasons he got in the film-making business. Be sure to look for the film on Netflix where it will be debuted at a later date.

Stay Spooky, Mobile.
