St. Vincent’s Holds Ribbon Cutting of New $40M Chilton County Hospital

Citizens of Chilton County haven’t had a hospital or emergency room since 2013.  That is about to change with the new St. Vincent’s Chilton County, a $40M new hospital with 30 beds and approximately 130 employees.

The modern style hospital sits about a half-mile off exit 212 on I-65 heading south from Birmingham.  Map below.

Locals were unhappy with having to drive 30 minutes to Alabaster or Prattville for healthcare, especially in an emergency.  Many pitched in to provide financial support to assist the opening of St. Vincent’s Chilton Co. Below is a picture of donors and some hospital staff at the celebration.

“This new hospital is bringing more than 100 jobs to Chilton County,” said Suzannah Campbell, Administrator for St. Vincent’s Chilton. “We look forward to providing a variety of services at the hospital for our patients, as well as wellness services and educational programming for those in the area.”

Donors Jim Wadsworth, below left, and Scott Goggins, below right, join the celebration.

The hospital will announce opening for patients after inspections are complete.  More here.
