Pizitz Renovation Set to Impact Birmingham Once Again

Retail was the purpose of the Pizitz tower as it opened in 1923. Today, it will soon harbor foodies, aspiring chefs, and just about everything in between.

The building will host a variety of food styles with office space above and even the Side Walk Music Festival headquarters will be stationed there.

Silverstein said the city of Birmingham and Mayor William Bell supported the project and pledged streetscape improvements to make the Pizitz renovation possible. He said the city supported the Pizitz revitalization as it had Bayer’s development of The Summit shopping center on U.S. 280, which is in the city limits of Birmingham.
