UAB Football Breaks Ground on New Training Facility

It has been quite a journey for the University of Alabama at Birmingham’s Football team. It’s been two years since the program was shut down and nearly one year since it was reinstated because of the public outcry from the UAB and Birmingham community.

On Monday morning, August 29th, UAB hosted a groundbreaking ceremony for the new facilities being built in support of the team. The facilities will be located at the corner of 6th Avenue and 11th Avenue South.

These facilities will include a Operations Center and Legacy Pavilion with office space, meeting rooms, film rooms, and a training facility. This $22 Million facility will be ready for kickoff in 2017. Students, Faculty, and Alumni showed their immense support during this ceremony. Almost

With the community behind this team, they have gained a whole new support system. They will begin their season in Fall 2017.
