Jennifer Skjellum, Pres. of TechBirmingham, to Teach Entrepreneurship at BSC

With innovation taking hold in Birmingham and all across the country, the call for entrepreneurs hasn’t been greater. Colleges are adapting their business curriculum to hone in on skills that benefit this new age in technology and start-ups.

Along with many others, Birmingham Southern Liberal Arts College has adopted its own entrepreneur sector for its business school. With this addition, comes new faces, and the newest of which is Jennifer Skjellum.

Mrs. Skjellum, the President of TechBirmingham, Co-Founder of TechAlabama, as well as President and Co-Founder of Runtime Solution is an expert on what it means to be an innovator.

Being stationed in the Innovation Depot, she has access to the abundant amount of businesses utilizing tech in their day to day ventures. This has given her the ability to network and connect over 200 member companies to work together toward the same goal; show off Birmingham and the potential it has for technology.

With her immense back ground in the subject, and the ever changing culture that is business, Skjellum is a perfect fit for the BSC Entrepreneur class.

Here are a few things she has and is doing for the Magic City and its growing tech culture:

SlossTech, TechTuesday’s at Burr Forman, Super Code Sundays at McWane for kids intrested in programming, 100 Girls of Code represenative for Birmingham, Employer of interns, etc…

Can’t wait to see the impact she has on BSC and Birmingham in the months to come.
