No smooth jazz here. These kids will be playing timeless jazz standards — Ellington, Gershwin, Monk, Handy—and there are some not-to-be-missed vocalists as well; Alabama has talent!
Festival founder, Dr. Frank E.Adams Sr., believed in the power of jazz to build bridges between communities and dedicated his life to keeping the art form alive. Born out of the melting pot of rhythms, jazz is an authentic representation of the complex whole that is America; it is American character made manifest—music by the people, for the people. Join us as we inspire the next generation of musicians to keep on playing.
