“I started with making sculptural pottery and that slowly evolved to making functional pottery.  I think as I got older and got a home, I wanted things for my home and kitchen.  I love my grandmother’s antique china and I love gold rimmed china.”

Loyal Stricklin is a leather goods company from Opelika, Alabama.  This year is Loyal Stricklin’s third year as a part of Southern Makers and we got to hear their favorite part.

My favorite part of Southern Makers is the community with the other artists.  This is a good way for everyone to get together to trade stories and advice.  It helps you run your business better when you’re able to talk to other business owners and you get great friendships which is probably the best part.

-Michael Stricklin, owner of Loyal Stricklin
