Welcome to the Bham Now Nature Roundup for July 13th.

Yesterday, earth experienced one of the biggest ice breaks in history when a part the Larsen C Ice Shelf in Antarctica broke off. Check out UAB’s Jim McClintock description on why this is an important development.  His words will surprise people.

Learn more about this major event and it’s consequences by joining UAB’s Facebook Live event with McClintock tomorrow.  Here are the details:

Friday, July 14 at 10 a.m. Central time, UAB will host a Facebook Live Q&A session with Dr. McClintock at www.facebook.com/UAB.edu/

Talk about events, don’t forget Turkey Creek’s “Float Your Boat” Festival on Saturday.  And if you want to “give back” this weekend, consider joining Ruffner Mountain for their Community Work Day.

Now onward to the news.
