Birmingham will be welcoming a new place to crave in early August. It doesn’t get any better than classic comfort foods from our very own Metro Diner.

The Floridian based diner was featured on Food Network’s Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives in Jacksonville Florida. Since then they have only continued to grow. Their expansion to Alabama came to Tuscaloosa in April of 2017. Now only a few short months later, Metro Diner will be coming to the Magic City.

Other than Alabama, you can find this delicious diner in Florida, Delaware, Georgia, Indiana, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Virginia.

Thanks to this comfort food chain you will have plenty of yummy menu items to choose from. The diner serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Breakfast includes fan favorites like a plate of Fried Chicken and Waffles, Crab Cake Benedict, or even Yo Hala On The Square, their special twist on French Toast. Like all classic diners, breakfast will be served all day.

You’ll also want to check out their combined lunch and dinner menu, as well. From Fish and Chips to their signature Metro Pot Roast, their menu has something fantastic for everyone.  You can also expect great value with dishes below $15. Find their menu here.

Metro Diner’s second Alabama location opens at 180 Inverness Plaza in Hoover. Soon after there will be a Vestavia Hills dining experience. The diner will take the place of Steak n’ Shake in that plaza.

The building plans include a complete remodel as well as seating for about 124 people. Metro Diner plans to hire over 100 new employees before their opening this August. The Birmingham location will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., Sunday through Thursday; and from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday.
