New Venue due for The Birmingham Barons Regions Field

The Birmingham Barons are expanding the 14th Street side of Regions Field to offer a fun new venue!

“The Switchyard on 14th” will embody an atmosphere geared toward families, foodies, and Birmingham’s millennial culture.

The SwitchYard on 14th name is consistent with many railroad-themed areas in the Parkside District and is one of many additions to the area since Railroad Park opened in September 2010.

The Birmingham Barons have been one of the most influential organizations in our growing city by rallying the community around sports.

To continue its positive impact on the community, The Barons have teamed up with Appleseed Workshop and Macknally Land Design to create the new venue, which may be operational year around, which has yet to be decided.

Talking with the General Manager of the Barons, Jonathan Nelson, Bham Now found out the plans for the new addition!

Details:

Right off of 14th Street South, under the “BIRMINGHAM” sign, there will be two Airsteam Trailers – built by Silverliner.

  • Foodstream

With a gastropub style of menu, all family members can enjoy!

  • Barstream

Yep, that’s right, a bar.

How would this venue be successful if a wide variety of brews and adult drinks were not offered!? With 20 draft beers on tap, and a full fledged bar, this will surely draw a crowd.

“it will be a great compliment to the area, such as RailRoad Park and Parkside.

We believe it will continue to satisfy a need in the downtown area with a food option for families and adults.”

– Jonathan Nelson

If food doesn’t entice your inner millennial, maybe these will…

  • Full Size Bocce Court
  • Ping Pong Tables
  • Outdoor Games…

The space will be perfect for parities, work group outings, and just your simple spring/summer hangout!

Go catch the Barons in action!
