Thanks to the 20 Midtown Publix more “game changing” development on the way

Ward Neely, with SRS Real Estate Partners, has proclaimed Southside to be “arguably the hottest area of town,” and he is backing that statement up with a new development.

Neely, along with Dick Schmalz and Scott Bryant, plan to tear down the old High Point Lounge and renovate The Merienda Lounge next door.

The move coincides with their recent work involving 20 Midtown.

Support from UAB, the medical district, and the ever increasing traffic generated by the 20 Midtown Publix continues to fuel the building boom on Southside.

Commercial real estate being a corner stone for the growth.

Mr. Neely expects the space, located at 420 and 414 Richard Arrington Jr. Blvd. South, to host restaurants and possibly retailers, he told Bham Now.

The Merienda Lounge Building will be renovated…

• Divided into 3-4 retail bays – facing 5th Ave South.

The old High Note Lounge will be torn down to accommodate parking for the tenants.
