Hundreds of protesters met at the Birmingham Shuttlesworth International Airport this afternoon to demonstrate opposition against President Trump’s executive orders banning people from Iraq, Sudan, Syria, Iran, Somalia or Yemen from traveling to the U.S. Â for 90 days.

Confusion and chaos spread across U.S. airports this weekend as anxious families searched for arriving relatives, friends and business associates and protestors demonstrated against the measure.
The Executive Director of the National Immigration Law Center, Marielen Hincapie, told WBRC:

This is just he beginning. Â We’re really in a crisis mode, a constitutional crisis mode in our country, and we’re going to need everyone,…This is definitely one of those all hands-on-deck moments.
Attendees included local clergy members and members from the Birmingham Islamic Society.

The local protesters marched in a loop from the baggage claim area to the ticketing and security areas chanting: ‘Say it loud, say it clear, immigrants are welcome here,’  The ‘Love Trumps Hate’ sign was also visible.
